I Once Cared for You, Now You Care For Me
During the first lockdown, my mother left her job to care for my grandad. Everyday she would spend hours looking after him only to return home and do the same for us. I was curious of what a day of work was like for her, and when returning home to see my family in October, I took the opportunity to document what has now become my mum's daily routine. "I once cared for you, now you care for me" is an intimate story of love and life after loss, and the things we do for those we care for.
The series was named the runner up for a Documentary Feature Series in the Falmouth University 2021 Press Awards. Documentary Photographer Jim Mortram (Small Town Inertia) judged the category and stated that the series was "Personal, powerful, timely and made with great sensitivity."
